The Good Things List. 20 things you can do now to shift your mood.
This list might come in handy when you are in
some kind of discomfort and want to take small steps to improve your mood. If
you are able to do more than one of these, even better.
Breathe in, breathe out and start where you
can.
1. Praying. Talk to your God or Divine energy. Use
a mala or just put your hands close to your heart and go inside for a while.
2. Drink a cup of tea. Plants are medicine. Use them.
3. Sunbathing. If the sun is hiding just go outside
and spend time in the fresh air for a while. 20 minutes per day in natural
light are vital for our wellbeing.
4. Drink something that you consider
healthy. A fruit and
veggie smoothie, a wheatgrass drink. Anything you feel that your body needs.
5. Breathing exercises. It’s impossible to be anxious if you
are breathing deeply and slowly. Breathing is the fastest way to change the way
we are feeling.
6. Take a walk. Go buy a box of biscuits or listen
to a Ted talk while you walk for a while. Find something that gets you outside
and moving.
7. Mirror Work. Meet yourself in the mirror. Talk to
yourself, dance, put some oils on your face and hair, braid your hair or put on
some make up. First listen, then do what you feel that you need.
8. Change your clothes. Choose more comfortable clothes or
prettier ones – depending on your need at that moment.
9. Play with your pet. If you don’t have a pet, adopt one
asap or look for a friendly puppy in the neighborhood.
10. Take a shower. Even for 2 minutes. Don’t forget to
change your clothes too. It changes your energy.
11. Call a friend. Choose a friend who is usually able
to improve your mood and doesn’t complain or has a predominantly negative
discourse or a friend who is a good listener.
12. Meditate. Find the type of meditation you are
able to do in that moment.
13. Journal. Unload your thoughts and emotions in
your journal.
14. Dance it out. It’s useful to have a playlist that
resonates with you. Music can change your vibration rapidly.
15. Put on a face mask or cream/oils. Yes, even if you are a man. Good
skin looks good on anybody.
16. Make a gratitude list. Grab the journal again for this one.
Gratitude is the best form of prayer there is.
17. Declutter or clean. Find 3 things you want to donate or
change the bedsheets. Every step counts.
18. Watch a funny show. Have a list handy with your favorite
ones.
19. Lights some candles, oils, sage, frankincense. They clear your energy and the space
around you.
20. Read. Choose to read at least 10 pages of
a book you enjoy.
